No, it wasn't what I originally thought. But I'd still love to see her before they turn her into scrap. I hope they do rename another the Enterprise - it is an honorable name (I thought I heard once, but it was probably myth/urban legend, that any 1st-of-its-kind vessel be named the Enterprise. I wouldn't be surprised if that's not true, but it would be grand if it were!).

It's an AP article, so I can't post the photo or any of the content, but read on for its link to Top Gun, what's special about its crew (I like their unofficial motto, "We eat pain like candy"), and what the plans are for the oldest, and largest, nuclear-powered aircraft carrier.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
