C-130 Hercules flying?

Anyone seen the C-130 Hercules (I think) lately? I call them baby huey's. For a week they buzzed the house in Bailey between 10:40 and 11 a.m. and then sometimes in the evening.

I thought one of them was going to crash into the mountain but it looks like they really know what they are doing.

Just saw a baby huey fly over. Missed a pic! Usually two so I ran outside and waited for a second one, but never saw it. Flying a little higher than usual. Thought it might be a slurry bomber but knew they weren't supposed to be flying over the lower north fork fire today.

Well Martin -where are yours that you're sharing with the rest of us! I wanna see a Blackhawk parked on Meyer Ranch!

Anyone know what reservoir or water body the Blackhawks are dipping from?

I have been on Mt. Bailey when the C-130 have flown right over Burland, below the level I was standing at. Quite the sight to be seen.

we watched em up close and personal as well during the Hi Meadow fire.

And didn't take the camera but stopped in at Norm's, he was taking a nap so we just stood behind the house and looked at them.

I read somewhere (at this point, heaven only knows where so I don't have a link) that they're taking water out of the Platte and Strontia Springs.

Just saw a site that confirmed that.

About the C-130s. There's a letter to the editor in this week's Flume addressing just that. It's titled "Seems like a war zone" and is on page 4. What struck me was this line: "A woman I met on my walk who also saw it said that her neighbor saw a plane dropping paratroopers into the valley last week." I raced right in to the kitchen and made myself a chic tinfoil hat.
