Thief grabs wallet and 2 weeks’ of woman’s salary
Woman’s wallet lifted at customer service counter
Jefferson County, Co. – On March 28, 2012 at about 9:15 a.m., a woman was at the customer service counter at the Conifer King Soopers store. She had previously cashed her two-week paycheck in Lakewood, and had over $1100 cash in her wallet. When she finished her transaction, she walked away, mistakenly leaving her wallet on the counter.
A man who had been in-line behind the woman, stepped up to the counter and placed a package on top of the wallet. When he walked away, he picked up the wallet and concealed it under the package.
Below are surveillance photographs of the suspect. He appears to be in his mid-fifties, about 5’-09” to 5’-10” tall and around 200 pounds. He was wearing a black shirt and pants, perhaps a sweat suit, and white tennis shoes. If anyone recognizes this man, or knows anything about this case they are asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 303-271-5612.
