Couldn't see the video - it's been removed due to copyright infringements - but I can imagine. Moron.

A great many folks seem to have zero situational awareness these days. One morning a couple of weeks ago I was walking thru the ground floor of my office building - had just left the coffee shop and was on the way to the elevators. Along that route is an alcove with an ATM machine. As I approached the alcove a guy stepped out from using the ATM. He had headphones on his head and was counting his cash as he walked, completely oblivious to the fact that I was walking, oh, 10 feet behind him. After we walked that way for some time (the whole time he's fiddling with his cash), he must have had that "feeling that someone was watching" and turned around to see me behind him and nearly jumped out of his skin. I smiled and said "Good Morning" but I felt like lecturing him about keeping an eye out! Sigh...

Bummer. The footage of the bear wandering the sidewalks was fascinating. When the guy looked up and figured out there was a bear right there, he turned and ran - duh. They interviewed him afterwards, not the smartest cookie in the cookie jar. He was trying to text his boss because he heard that there was "something going on"/"a disturbance" in his area and he thought he'd be late to work - if there's something "going on" in your area (a news helicopter hovering should be a tip off), then paying attention to what's going on around is probably what one should be doing.

Just sayin'.

I saw it on Rachel last night. It was the best new thing

A 400-pound black bear strolls through the front yard of a home Tuesday morning, April 10, 2012 in La Crescenta, Calif. Officials caught up with the bear at an apartment complex, where fish and game authorities shot it with four tranquilizer darts and relocated it to the Angeles National Forest.

It's strange you never see the bear again after the man turns and runs.

Maybe the bear saw the man and had a heart attack?

lol Why i don't walk and text.

Yep we look all ways before stepping out and then take a look at the roof. It also helps that we have a closer on the storm door that makes it bang when it shuts, just in case our scoping missed something. A friend has bells on theirs.
