We don't hunt any here because of chronic wasting disease. Sorry don't have an update. What is with all the big tumors on the mule deer?

Don't worry about those- just cut them away and start grilling!
Yum.
I usually get an OTC leftover landowner tag for 391- last year was the first year that they ran out of deer tags. I still got a elk tag no problem - but the deer tag got away from me- I hope there will be some OTC leftover private landowner tags available this year for 391.
Anyone know anything about this? I'd like to hear from anyone who might know.

I've been wondering that myself. We have a buck that wanders our property periodically whose face/head is eaten up with them. One has even grown into one of his eyes.
There really isn't that much sporting about it. (bears are easy to find, and aren't really shy)
AND - you get a big fat bill (from my family) for field dressing, transport, and processing.
Granted - we appreciate your support ---- but If you want to hunt in Alaska - go after caribou.
Rest assured, I am in no immanent danger of winning the lottery - I rarely buy a ticket. With the pace the economy is on I'll be lucky to retire in the next 20 years.
I was stationed on Adak island in the 1980's while I was in the Navy and I enjoyed the naked woman behind every tree! I also got my fill of caribou hunting while I was there but I'd love to go back some day and do it all over again.
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford
Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus
Now that appeals. But if I win the lottery I would be more inclined to buy it and leave in its natural state. Otis you are invited to hunt your bear. Like you, though, I am not counting on winning the lottery seeing how you have to buy a ticket and I haven't gotten around to doing it.
