BWO - Loose Cow Aspen Park

25 Sep 2012 09:34 - 03 Oct 2012 18:45 #1 by Wily Fox aka Angela
There appears to be a loose cow in the Aspen Park area. A few days ago he/she was reported as being at Meyer Ranch & Eagle Cliff. Last night at midnight deputies said he/she was at JJ Madwells. They said it appeared to be a large calf, maybe 3-350 pounds.
The pictures are from last week, unknown source. There is a brand but not clear enough to identify.

Animal control and the brand inspector have been getting calls.

If anyone is able to secure this cow in to a fenced in area the brand inspector will pick up.

May have to wait till the next day depending on time and circumstances, but they can be called during normal business hours at 303-294-0895.

This spring we had a cow who had missed the fall roundup of range cattle and she had a calf. Eventually the both of them rejoined their original herd. Wonder if the rancher noticed his extra beef?

lol Bet the cow is having a grand time. Probably doesn't even know it is loose, lost or missing.

HA - I would imagine it just believes that the grass is greener EVERYWHERE and can get to it. What a world this calf has!

It looks like the cow is free ranging and enjoying.

Anytime we would want to bring in a horse or cow we would bring oats or other delectable and they would come running. Imagine this one would do the same.

Has anyone tried to bring it in yet?

It better watch out, hanging out at Madwells. It could end up as someone's dinner sooner than planned.

No more sightings reported, however the owner is still looking for this yearling. Please call animal control if you see him. They will call the owner and he can come get him.

Statue of limitations? If the yearling can stay on the run for a full year do they earn their freedom?
