Due to sequestration, USFS cutting 500 firefighters and 50 engines across country, aircraft less available.
Average response time last year. 12min, 25sec. comparison to urban areas and rural areas (no time specification analyzed, recommended is 12 min or less, they are meeting that 51% of the time)
Considerations: multiple simultaneous calls stretch capabilities of dept with only 2 staff present. Ave run to city is 90 minutes, have to have volunteers come in for 2nd call -can get to 40min+ for response time
Fires: 6 people responding to fire 80% of time. Only meeting that goal 30% of calls.

Inquiry about the department setting up a Paypal account so they could place a button on their website, and others could share it on theirs, to assist in the community doing online donations to the department. Board approves of idea, will look into it.
