Inter-Canyon Fire Dept posted this:

Several ICFPD firefighters will be attending the 9/11 stairclimb at Red Rocks Amphitheater next Wednesday. The event is a 9-lap walk around the venue, a similar ascent to climbing one of the World Trade Center towers. The public is welcome to attend the event. Our FFs will be wearing our fire gear as we walk to honor those rescuers lost on 9/11/01.

Join us for a unique opportunity on September 11 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado. Firefighters and members of the community will come together for a day of fitness and reflection in a truly inspiring setting. Together, we will honor those who sacrificed their lives on September 11, 2001, and help support the families who survived them.

Had 1500 climbers. 17 states represented as far away as Hawaii and Alaska. 34 climbs in 3 countries with another $200,000 going to the FDNY from the National Stair Climb Program.

627,000,000 have died since 911. Thats 6 hundred and 27 million people. Can we get over the 3k that died on 911 now? And those 911 families have been well "supported" ....I was in St Barts in 2004 and there was nothing but 911 widows around the pool..

No, VL we aren't going to get over it already, sorry. The first responders and their families, and those of who continue to care, have every right to commemorate the sacrifice and to continue to help support the families who lost loved ones; if you don't wish to participate, no one's forcing you to.

I will be there.

Vice Lord this country commemorates a lot of events that shaped our future and past. I am going to this event to honor the memory of the fallen firefighters, and the victims and survivors of 9-11.
Also those lost on Storm King and in Arizona.

I will also be showing my support of current firefighters.

Science Chic are you going? For anyone that hasn't registered get there around 8:00 to register on site.

Looks like the firefighters will not be overheating in their bunkers on Wednesday on the climb.
Thanks to everyone from all over the country representing tomorrow.
