Read it earlier. Very good article. Looks like the link is the same one that PF had. If you go to canyoncourier.com and scroll down you will find "Come hell or high water, Evergreen Dam isn’t going anywhere."
Well I read it in its entirety the other day and now it will only show the first few lines and you need to subscribe. Oh well.
Thanks windpeak, I found it and was able to read it. Often with the CC website I can read articles on a tablet or phone but on the computer they require a subscription.
Interesting.......the article is designed for local public consumption and not at all a review of the structural design, construction and routine inspection results.....pabulum. The vertical reinforcement scheme is interesting and a reasonable starting point. The forces of concern are of course horizontal and the real concern is the possibility of erosion at the furthermost lateral areas. A feel good article......uhhhhhh the Titanic was of course advertised to be unsinkable.......sheeple bought it......really bought it.....

You know I had great reservations about the EV Dam and maybe I still will but at least someone was willing to explain what measures they took in the article to make it more secure. At least it was assessed and something more done to secure it.
The article also said that if there was a big event that lower Evergreen, Kittredge, Idledale and Morrison wouldn't be there but the Dam more than likely would. It managed quite fine with this most recent event. We shall see what the future holds.
And being the more cautious type person, you don't get old being unnecessarily reckless, I will not hang around the Dam during a big event to see if it holds.
Uhhhhh....Fish....do you have a copy ? Silence I am sure. The local sheep have much too much business, civic, and personal compromises to not want to accept the "shining light".....IF you have a copy simply scan it and send it to SC and a copy to me.....thanks in advance.

I have access to and have read or reviewed the last few year's inspection reports. I will not submit them to anyone here. There are proper channels to go through to see that type of information. That is why the link was posted.
Determinations regarding disclosure will be made on a case-by-case basis, taking into consideration the risk to the public, national security alert level, the most recent Department of Homeland Security (DHD) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) status information, the size and condition of the dam, and the owner-engineer notification information. The original request shall be filed in a separate file in the receiving office.
Couldn't see the link either- I will say though..... that
I looked at the dam closely a few weeks ago after playing golf at Evergreen Golf Course and it looked pretty good to me, and what you amatures don't understand is that the ED is what we call "A flow through" dam...Its not like the Boulder dam which is holding back literally tons of water. The water just flows over the top of this dam without putting too much pressure on it- Suprised that PF doesn't know this?
