I would be in deep trouble if my sink did that!

I assume these would be the house wines since they are on tap...

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

I even have strict criteria for house wine.

A long long time ago when I was stationed in Naples, me and many of my shipmates would make a point to have a meal on the local economy at least once or twice a week. It wasn't hard to do because there were lots of houses just up the hill from our base who all ran restaurants out of their homes. Great food and wine that wasn't bad either; you knew the wine was of the highest caliber because it came to the table in a glass bottle (that might have Coke, Fanta, or some other Italian brand printed on the side) with a tinfoil cap on the top. Normally the menus, bread, cheese, and wine came to the table as you arrived and took a seat. Not uncommon for young kids to be the runners either.

I loved eating in Europe! You are spot-on: the house wines were above and beyond better than the "affordable" wine sold here and the food delicious (sometimes adventurous!). I'd drink them any day! I've never had better bread anywhere than in France and eating outside in the cafes...ahhh. It's a damn good thing I inherited my mom's fast metabolism! lol

What was your favorite meal otis, or what type of food would you usually order?

Best meal - roasted ox heart in it's own blood. I had that meal in Vatican City, no one pointed out to me that I was ordering ox heart until I had ordered it and eaten it. Didn't matter, it was wonderful!

Go to meal around Naples - pasta Carbonara. Normally Fettuccine or other flat thick pasta in a white sauce with veg and lots of garlic and fenel. Of course it wouldn't be Carbonara without panchetta (Italian version of bacon).

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Hmm, ox heart, interesting. I've only had chicken heart and it was yummy.

I'm a salad girl, the fresh greens and Mediterranean diet are what appealed to me!
