Sometime my wife, though not then, will have to tell you about a Red Rocks Buffett concert that I remained conscious for at least a few songs.
Not one of my proudest moments.

B) That's not an unusual occurrence at a Buffett concert. :P You missed some great songs though, I'm sure! He's fun to see live.

I have almost every single album of his - he's my favorite male single artist (I sound like the Grammy awards now, ick). What was funny was that my favorite female artist got mentioned this morning - the morning show I listen to said that today was the 30th anniversary of the release of the Like a Virgin album, and doesn't that make us all feel old. I almost called the station to cuss them out. LOL!

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

So you are saying that your favorite female artist is Madonna?

Scorpions rule!

Happy Birthday. Again.

My realization of the onset of oldfarticus occurred in the early 90's when a classic rock station announced the Eagles Hotel California was 20 yrs. old at the time, and then depression set in. :(

Many happy returns! Tonight would be a good one for a batch of hot buttered rum, I'm told it goes well with Birthday cake:

4 cups Turbinado sugar
4 cups brown sugar
4 cups unsalted butter
8 cups vanilla ice cream
Rum - the darker the better!
Water
Ground nutmeg

1. Combine Turbinado sugar, brown sugar and butter in a 2-quart saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until butter is melted (6-8 min).

2. Combine cooked mixture with ice-cream in a large mixing bowl, and beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often until smooth (1-2 min). Store refrigerated up to 2 weeks or frozen up to one month.

3. For each serving, fill one-quarter of a mug with mixture, add one ounce rum and three-quarters of a cup of boiling water. Sprinkle with nutmeg.

Makes two big mugs or four small ones. :jumpinwine:

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus

Happy Birthday SC, and thanks for all your efforts!

Have a glass of wine and relax. ( But after you research your pick-5 winners!) :)

May I suggest a French classic:

1982 Bordeaux Wine vintage – A stunning vintage with a great style that ushered in the modern age of Bordeaux and Robert Parker. The wines were great from both banks in every appellation. Most wines are fully mature. If well stored, the better wines will improve with additional cellaring. Pauillac, St. Julien and Pomerol were the most successful appellations.

CHEERS! LOL
