Putting up the tree today so if I get it all decorated, I will take pictures and post it when it gets a little darker.
One of my favorite ornaments is below of a Boston Terrier with a feather scarf which is what my Izabella so wants to be the premadona this ornament would lead you to believe she might be but in fact she is more the hockey player/linebacker type. She often hides behind trees or the shed waiting for the other dogs to pass by so she can cross check them and send them flying (rolling) down the hill.
It is not that lady like at all but funny!!! On that same note she has her Daddy wrapped around her paw and tries hard to be the Princess in his eyes.
Hope the rest of you will post pictures of you trees or favorite holiday item it will be fun to see them.
What a great idea! We haven't gotten our tree up yet, but when we do I will definitely take pictures and share stories of our favorite ornaments.
Thanks HC!

Ok, the tree is up and I am starting on the village (Dickens Village Dept. 56) it will take me the rest of the Bronco game and probably then some but here is a preview.
Here's our tree this year. Usually we put it centered in front of a large picture window, but this year decided to place it in the corner.
This is my favorite ornament since I was a little girl. I just thought that the blue and white together were the most beautiful colors in the whole wide world. All of our ornaments were all hand-made, no store-bought ones in the bunch except for ones that we further modified in some way. I think I got this one at a school holiday sale.
And this. Every year my only aunt on my mom's side bought ornaments that she had personalized for my brother, myself, and her daughter (the only grandkids on my mom's side for the longest time, and we were all within a year and a half of each other in age so we grew up pretty close). She always got me and my cousin ones with cute little mice, and my brother something less cutesy. I'll never forget that one year, the only year we actually got to pick them out ourselves from the festival where she purchased them, that they mixed up the ones my brother and I picked out and the only one I have that isn't a mouse is a reindeer. I was so mad and upset at the time. Now I can't even remember what the ornament looked like that I'd picked out that my brother got instead. I try to remember that whenever something happens that bothers me so; that time dulls the memory and the angst/pain. Perhaps whatever is upsetting is not such a big deal worth getting so upset over...
This is one of the cute mice ornaments. I cherish all of them from my favorite aunt. I miss that we don't get together for Christmas every year now that we are states apart.
