My name is Brian, and I coach Track and Cross Country at Conifer High School, a small school in the mountains of Colorado. Ever since I've been here, the school has had an asphalt track, and our team has suffered the injuries that go along with that. This year we had a shin splint and stress fracture epidemic. Our school also has no jumping areas; those were covered up to make improvements to the football stadium.
This summer, Conifer has a unique opportunity to get the track replaced if we can raise enough money quickly enough. Because of more work that's being done to the football field, the asphalt on our track will be destroyed. Thus, the school district has agreed to repave our track at no cost to us. With this windfall, we're hoping we can add a rubberized surface to the new asphalt by buying the materials and doing it ourselves. However, we need to do this immediately after the new asphalt is laid, otherwise the weather will degrade the asphalt and we will miss our opportunity.
The athletes would benefit greatly from your support, and the project is very doable. Thank you for your consideration and donations!
