A surge of burglaries and vandalism to commercial businesses in Evergreen, Aspen Park and Conifer are prompting the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office to warn the public.
Stagecoach Sports Grill in Evergreen was burglarized and vandalized late Tuesday night, said Jefferson County Sheriff's Office spokesman Mark Techmeyer.
He said someone shattered the establishment's glass door and did extensive damage to televisions, arcade games, furniture and even squirted ketchup on the pool tables. "The damage to the property is felony level," Techmeyer said.
Over the weekend, Techmeyer said, four businesses were burglarized in Aspen Park: Designing Spirits, Luna's Mandala, Look What I Found Boutique and Aspen Roots Hair Studio. He said the businesses were physically connected and it appears that a suspect was able to lift up ceiling tiles to enter the next business and steal "various items."

Good morning friends and neighbors...many have been asking for details and on how they can help...here goes:
Damage estimates are over $10,000. We lost 4 tv's, 2 video games damaged, pool tables were a mess. Mass amounts of ketchup sprayed thru out. Pictures were lost. Large amounts of alcohol stolen, broken, or thrown out because of potential tampering...same with food...much was tossed. Chairs and tables broken and damaged. 4 doors destroyed. 2 POS terminals destroyed and system damage. Laptop destroyed. Plumbing damaged in bar. Broken glass covered most of restaurant. Collection jar stolen...attempts to break into atm, safe, change machine failed.
It was reported by Canyon Courier that two juveniles were arrested yesterday in connection to break ins...they are locals.
It may be weeks for insurance and we are not covered for the entire loss.
"How can we help"... at this point, we are very grateful for the offers...We would ask you for your patronage support as a means of helping us get on our feet again.

You couldn't have picked a better time to kick us...we were already struggling and down. What you don't realize is that this Team, this GC man...are at their very best when our backs are against the wall. We will NOT cower, We will NOT falter to the likes of you un-American punks. You took "things" and you damaged the Stagecoach as you did to many of our neighbors but you shall NEVER take OUR resolve, you shall NEVER take OUR Spirits, you shall NOT have OUR Hearts...these mountain communities will NOT relinquish our way of life to a few wanna be thugs. This is OUR COMMUNITY AND WE WILL NEVER GIVE UP OUR MOUNTAIN WAY OF LIFE..WE ARE SURVIVORS...WE ARE AMERICANS.
Your little raids and your freedom will soon be at an end...We, this community...will band together, rebuild and take back what is ours!
