It is hard to complain about the rain when you read the stories about the fires in Canada and Alaska.

The news reported that many Denver Firefighters are there helping.

When I was promoting a JOY International Barefoot Mile we did in Wasilla a few weeks ago, I was looking through their local news Facebook pages. My jaw dropped when I saw a picture of the current Alaska red flag warning areas on top of which was superimposed an outline of the state of Texas. The Red Flag Warning area filled the entire area that encompassed the state of Texas.

Our Elk Creek Fire Deputy Chief just left for Alaska this past week to be a dozer chief for a crew. He'll be gone for 2 weeks, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers for a safe return and much success on establishing fire lines to contain the fire. Other crews from Elk Creek have been to Idaho and will likely keep heading out west throughout the summer.

We are projected to have a continued wet summer and possibly an epic winter and much of the southern US is the same. The higher fire danger areas now are the northwest US, Canada, and Alaska. :(

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

:like: It's good to know that we have enough margin of safety to send out talented fire fighters to other parts of our nation! God's speed, be safe as you the fight fires!

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
