Do people look for trouble?

otisptoadwater wrote: "Hmm, I'll take what is the First Amendment for $5000.00 Alex..." No one has to like how I express myself, if you don't like it challenge me (and be prepared for a debate but if you want to take it any further swing first and prepare to have your ass handed to you) or mind your own damn business!

I don't go around pulling down rainbow flags or telling anyone they can't display pro-homosexual symbols, it's none of my business. Frankly I don't like the whole pro-gay agenda and I find the whole movement (pun intended) disgusting but you won't see me telling anyone else they can't say what they want or do what they want until they are breaking the law and/or physically harming others.

I don't have any affinity for the KKK, the American Socialist Party (is that the Democrats these days? Sorry, I digress), or the goddamned American Nazis either. Regardless, we are all protected as citizens (and apparently illegal aliens too to some extent under the current administration) by the First Amendment.

Are we still a nation that values the freedoms afforded to us by the Constitution or are we a bunch of lemmings, herd animals who follow the direction of the herd without bothering to question authority and the people we have elected to lead our nation?!

I should be sorry for the rant but I'm not - Neutral Guy please don't take it as a personal affront between you and I. This is a bigger issue between me and a large portion of the American public.

:flag:

I was just very surprised to see this up here. People wonder why they have problems with neighbors and such and something like this just makes me chuckle a bit (and wonder why).

On the flip side I know that there are people that will take it to the extreme and that can be a very bad thing.

Overall we are all American's and you may not agree with everything and as long as you understand that what you believe in is just that and don't force your issue on another we would all be fine.

Unfortunately there are too many crazy people out there that go beyond what are really their rights and harm others that is the problem I have.

Love America there is no better place to live and if you think there is I so go there and enjoy life.

Maybe they want to show they aren't intimidated by the latest in flavor indignation of the week?

Please keep the discussion to the topic at hand here in the Campfire, if you wish to discuss each other you are more than welcome to do so in The Ring.

Thank you!

Hey , I forgot all about the ring. Is there a way to have new post show up when I click recent or do I have to make a special trip to see it?

You have to make a special trip to see it. Unfortunately with this system, when we set it to display the Ring topics in Recent Topics, it also shows on the Home Page. There's no way to separate Recent Topics for logged in members vs guests only with what is displayed on the Home Page (at least that we've found digging through the back end, and with this version of the software) and there are some topic titles that definitely shouldn't be displayed on the Home Page! If they ever update the software to fix that, we'll definitely make it so you can see them if logged in.

Sorry, I know it's annoying. I tend to forget about it too because of that, and there can be so much fun to be had there! Speaking of, I believe I have a Ring-worthy meme to share...

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

Back when I was pushing boots through boot camp for the US Navy I would call out "Sesame street formation NOW!" so I could provide a few basic instructions to the boots. It was sad then and even sadder now that our young people have graduated high school or had a GED but they needed this kind of remedial education:

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus
