Last night someone threw a cigarette butt out a window on 285 that started a fire. Luckily, a vigilant motorist called 911, and then stopped to stomp out the fire and pour water on it. We are in extreme wildfire danger right now and need to do everything possible to protect our community.
Jefferson, Park and Clear Creek Counties are under a Stage Two Burn Ban -- this prohibits smoking except within a closed vehicle or building or while stopped in an area at least six feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of any combustible material.
