Full Send Bike Ranch Website
As proposed, Full Send Bike Ranch would be Colorado’s first dedicated lift-access free ride and downhill mountain bike park.
• Currently, there exists no dedicated chairlift accessed freeride bike park in Colorado
• Full Send Bike Ranch (“FSBR”) is a proposed, dedicated freeride bike park development less than 40 minutes from Denver with chairlift access
• FSBR’s mission is to provide responsible, safe, and community friendly chair lift access mountain biking to the CO freeride/downhill community
• There will be a focus on development and progression to make riding safe and fun
• **There is no residential component to the project.

Can You Just Start a Bike Park? 2 Guys in Colorado are Trying
By Matt Miller, Singletracks | February 1, 2021

Why is it important to have a bike park and terrain solely for mountain bikers?

Most lift access mountain biking is ski first. The lift infrastructure is designed around skiing. Where the trails go on the mountain is going to be constrained by the business of skiing. Everything about the mountain bike operation is ancillary,” including when they open and close.

Since most of Colorado’s bike parks under ski resorts are located in high elevation areas, they typically don’t open until the middle of June and usually have to close before the end of September, leaving a short 3-4 month season, often cut short so resorts can prep to open for winter.

Bouchard and Evans are shooting to address all of these issues with something that would be the first of its kind in Colorado: a lift-served park for mountain biking only, open for half the year, and within an hour’s drive of Denver.

Right now, they consider themselves in the middle of the proposal with Jefferson County.

They have had to tell the county about the project with a rough outline, and inform the community. In the next phase, they would need to conduct environmental surveys and traffic studies. Lastly, they would have a public hearing, present a formal site plan, let the community chime in again, and then address how to mitigate impacts like traffic or wildlife interruption. The planning commission reviews compatibility of the plan with existing and allowable land use, the ability to mitigate negative impacts on the area, availability of infrastructure and services, and the effect on residents and landowners in the surrounding area.

Good luck with your venture! This past Summer saw local trails and parking lots overrun with bikers. I think a new area will do great.

Residents voice concerns about proposed Full Send Bike Ranch
Proponents want to locate bike park on Shadow Mountain Drive
Deb Hurley Brobst, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. | January 8, 2021

Great idea. Bad location.

That was the consensus of many who attended a virtual community meeting about a proposed freeride mountain bike park on Shadow Mountain Drive approximately 2 miles from Highway 73.

Evans and Bouchard said they knew their proposal might be polarizing, but they were pleased with the support they have received from some area residents and from the mountain biking community. They believe a bike park would not be as impactful as other possible development such as residences.

The duo said the Shadow Mountain site made the most sense for the bike park, but they would consider other locations.

Neighbors fight plans for mountain bike park near Conifer, avid mountain bikers express support - VIDEO

CONIFER, Colo. — A proposed mountain bike park near Conifer has become a polarizing topic. Those who call the area home see it as a potential risk and avid mountain bikers see it as an untapped outlet for the community.

The mountain bike park would develop 250 acres off of Shadow Mountain Drive, just west of Conifer, and create 16 miles of trails with chairlift access. Project creators spoke with Denver7 back in January about the projected 2023 opening.

An update on the development proposal formerly known as the Full Send Bike Ranch.

The Battle to Build the First Lift-Served Mountain Bike Park in the Front Range
Two cyclists want to alleviate overcrowding on trails by building Shadow Mountain Bike Park in Conifer. Some of their potential neighbors want to stop them.
Nicholas Hunt, 5280
June 2022

Because the Land Board abides by local land-use regulations and rulings, Shadow Mountain’s next step is to gain approval from Jefferson County. Bouchard says they hope to submit their application as early as this month, at which point Stop Full Send will try to convince the county that the project is incompatible with the neighborhood’s character. If approved, construction on the new bike park could start this winter.
