channel 4 has it now at 3000 evacuated.

watched the smoke from squaw pass yesterday afternoon.

looks like 4 firefighters lost their homes and i can imagine that they had done some wildlife mitigation. hard to stop a fire when it gets going.

One can home that since it was a holiday more people were home, than if it had been a normal Monday and people would of been away at work and these people were able to save valuables.

We try to keep all of our keepsakes and important papers in two places, so if we are ever tested we know where to go. I can't image being tested. I know some up here were close enough to the Hi Meadow fire and had this test.

Our thoughts are with the folks in the Boulder Hills.

Current numbers - 7100+ acres burned, 92 homes gone, 8 damaged buildings, and ZERO containment. On the good side, no serious injuries, no deaths.

A website to assist those who need help in this fire with just abour everything, including housing animals - go here if you think you can help - http://www.sparkplace.com/

It's why when they tell you to evacuate, do so. Which is of more value, your life or your home?

I vote life. Things are replaceable.

They don't know for sure if those 8 that are missing didn't evacuate. They will be going to the address to see if they are there and will be calling family members to see if they have heard from them or know where they are. There were 20 missing yesterday and they found 12 of them. They expect they will get more calls of people missing.
