2 Wildfires Break Out In Boulder; Evacuations Ordered

Two wildfires burning in Boulder Canyon, near the city limits, are forcing some people to evacuate.

The two fires are located approximately 1/4 mile west of Boulder Canyon. It is about 10 acres in size and moving north. Currently the fire is burning near Elephant Buttress above Dome Rock on city of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks.

Boulder has cut electrical power to that section of the city.

My thoughts and prayers are certainly with the folks of Boulder and those who are fighting these wildland fires.

None so far. All the TV stations are on with non-stop coverage.

At the present time, the fire is not threatening any structures or homes, so we do not have a need for community donations of food, clothing or other items. Please do not attempt to bring any donated items to the area in response to the fire.
