Saw the ones in Evergreen a few years back by the 'S' curves south of town. I heard that one was killed by a vehicle. I remember seeing a few growing up in N.Wisconsin. There is a wildlife zoo near Minocqua (Jim Peck's Wildlife Park) that has a few on site. I believe most of the deer there can come and go as they please.
