The owner of the famed hot-dog-shaped Coney Island Boardwalk hot-dog stand in Bailey is selling the spot because he says he's tired of what he calls harassment by the Park County Sheriff's Office.
The landmark restaurant closed last month after owner Ron Aig ner said he ran out of money to support the place during sagging wintertime sales, mostly because of $15,000 in attorney's bills resulting from a court trial on misdemeanor charges.
Asking price is $499,000, with the stipulation that the building be moved off the 1-acre property that Aigner said he will sell separately in the future.
Saw this on the news this morning. When it was still in Aspen Park the place was jammed most every day at lunch and service was pretty fast. Always wondered why the new owners moved it to Bailey where the traffic would definitely be more seasonal. Sorry it didn't work out for them.
