"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
We like to name the litters of kittens or puppies with a "theme" or with the same first initial. That way we can better remember who goes together and where they came from.
Wait till you see the "S" kitties, and the other "C" kitties.
I am happy to add Jeza to the list of adopted cats this week. She is a real sweetheart and went to her forever home today!
Adding Hazy to the list. Hazy's foster mom made a special trip to the shelter late this afternoon to meet with a Hazy's new forever mom.
If you haven't been in to play with the multitude of kittens that they have available for adoption right now, do yourself a favor and stop by! They are so friendly, and playful, and adorable - I'd take at least 2 of them home if my current kitty wouldn't shred my house in protest!

Lots of our kittens and cats were adopted at Petsmart and Petco over the past couple weeks.
Petsmart and Petco do a wonderful job of exposing our fur friends to a bigger audience than we have up here.
I am happy to report that all of the following found their forever homes!
Kiwi
Melly
Creamsicle
Klondike
Callie
Thai
Chai
Pekoe
Earl Grey
Mackey
Winchester
Tyson our sweet wonderful senior citizen was adopted last week. His new family is crazy about him.
Kayla and Lucy-Cara, two very socialized kittens also went to new homes.
We received a very nice email from Crawler's new mom giving us an update on her. Crawler now gets to enjoy 5 mile walks every day. Crawler loves these walks and has made herself right at home. Her new mom is just so happy that she brought Crawler into her life.
We still have more though. If you have been thinking about getting a cat, kitten, dog or puppy, stop by the shelter and visit with our residents. We are sure we have something for you.
We've got puppies and they are going fast, as are the adult dogs.
We've had a great week for adoptions.
Dewey and Dayton went home together. (these are the dogs from Kansas that were found in a cemetary along with their puppies). We got to see some new pictures of them playing on their new deck and in their new backyard, and a great photo of them sleeping together.
Frazier and Frannie went to new homes.
JUNEY JO - Juney has spent months in shelters, both here and in Burlington. She finally got to go to her new home.
D'aya, Shida and Stripe all went home yesterday and today. These are three of our litter of 10 Bulldog/Dalmatian pups. They are cute and going fast.
We had some cats adopted this past week that have been in the shelters care for months. One of them since Dec 2010.
Banshee went home in a pink cat carrier. (Banshee is orange - it was quite a sight).
Myra the lovely black pillow cat also went home.
Jr (after a lengthy adoption process went home where a friend is waiting for him.
Quizzer will be enjoying life in a huge spacious barn keeping the mouse population in control. He's got some great views too.
Crystal and Clementine made a couple of little girls very happy today. It's not hard to tell these two apart, one is white, and one is black.
And the best story so far for the cats - Spooky and Sophie (ages 6 and 7) and inseparable went home together to keep an elderly person's lap warm. They needed a quiet home, and Sophie will blossom in her new environment.
Thank you to all for stopping in and remember we are now open 7 days a week - 11am to 4pm, and till 7pm on Wednesdays.
