The DC city council is looking at the Washington Redskins getting a new name. Considering the political bent of the district and the beltway, maybe they need to name them just the "Red's" as in Marxists.
Or in honor of their north Virginia fanbase, the Rednecks?
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
The team originated as the Boston Braves, based in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1932. At the time the team played in Braves Field, home of the Boston Braves baseball team. The following year the club moved to Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, whereupon owners changed the team's name to the Boston Redskins. The Redskins relocated to Washington, D.C. in 1937.
So 81 years later the special interest groups and minorities are outraged? Seems to me like those who are objecting are a little late to the party...
If the team name has to change then I would want the new name to reflect the actions of our current administration. The Washington Communists.
