Local eighth grade Evergreen Middle School student Aspen van der Zee came up with a big goal this spring: to qualify for the American Eventing Championships (AEC) being held this year in Kalispell, Montana at the storybook Rebecca Farm. Eventing, sometimes called Three-Day Eventing, is an Olympic equestrian sport that combines Dressage, Cross-Country Jumping and Show Jumping into one competition called a Horse Trial.
