15 Apr 2012 18:09 #1 by RenegadeCJ
Showers and flurries increasing this afternoon in unstable northwest flow. These showers/flurries should die down after sunset, although some cells may apporoach severe limits with hail and gusty outflow winds. Most foothill locations received 3-7 inches of snow, with higher amounts over the mountains along and west of the Divide, which should lower fire danger at least fo a few days. Severe weather today focused across easten TX and OK, AR and MO but not nearly as intense as yesterday where over 120 tornadoes were reported and 5 fatalities.

Weather for the upcoming week should be mostly dry with temps back above seasonal norms Tuesday through the weekend. Some isolated showers possible in the afternoon and evening hours, but no organized precipitation expected through Sunday. Flow aloft will be westerly with diurnal surface winds across the foothills and adjacent Plains. Upper ridge is forecast to build across CO this coming weekend with temps well above seasonal norms.
