wxgeek's weather-Some Showers/Snow today, Beautiful Weekend

A weak upper trough will move across CO today from the northwest and will bring a good chance for showers and some isolated thunderstorms this afternoon and evening til around midnight. Snow level will begin above 10,000 ft this afternoon but lower to 8000-9000 ft by this evening, so some higher areas could see a dusting of snow in showers, along with some small hail and graupel. I doubt anyone will see more than an inch of accumulation unless you happen to be under a heavy shower. Any and all moisture at this point is greatly appreciated.

Friday through Monday we should see beautiful weather with lots of sun, warm temps and light winds across the entire state. Great weekend to be out and enjoying the Spring scenery. Upper ridge that will build in this weekend will persist into at last the middle of next week, although isolated showers and thunderstroms will be possible Monday through Wednesday in the afternoon/evening hours. Temps will remain well above seasonal norms from Friday through late next week.

Upper trough from the Pacific will move into the Great Basin late next week which will cause southwest flow aloft and at the surface to increase, which will likely cause fire danger to incraese. Precip looks possible by next weekend as upper trough moves across CO. However, no major storms looks likely through the end of April, so we will very likely end the month below average for snowfall and continue our dry Spring pattern which will keep fire danger elevated.
