We regret to announce that Platte Canyon School District has cancelled all after school activities. Boys & Girls Club will only be able to open for current members living in the Friendship Ranch area or current members with parents who are active law enforcement.

February 24th PRESS-RELEASE
On February 24th at about 9:48 this morning Park County Sheriff's uniformed officers were serving a high-risk Writ of Restitution,(eviction notice) at 36 Iris Drive Bailey, Colorado.
Sheriff Wegener arrived on scene just as patrol officers were about to make contact with the party living in the residence. The subject identified as, MARTIN WITTH, of Bailey, Colorado.
WIRTH came out on his deck paused and then went back inside. Officers quickly followed WIRTH inside the residence as they entered WIRTH fired upon them. Officers returned fire.
WIRTH was pronounced dead at the scene. Corporal Nate Carrigan, who was with Park County for 13 years, was shot and died at the scene. Master Patrol Deputy Kolby Martin who has 11 years with Park County was shot multiple times in the lower extremities, and Captain Mark Hancock, 21 years with Park County was shot in the ear.
Deputy Martin was air lifted to Saint Anthony's in Denver, and Captain Hancock was driven to Saint Anthony's in an ambulance.
Our thouthts and prayers are with Corporal Carrigan's family & friends at this time.
I contacted the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and requested that they take the lead in this ongoing investigation.
The response from our brother and sister Law Enforcement Agencies, and our Community is truly heartwarming and overwhelming. We do not require addtiional resources at this time.
Sheriff Wegener would like to thank the Chaffee County Sheriff's Office, the Colorado State Patrol, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office the Fairplay Police Department, the Alma Police Department, our DA's Office and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation for theri assistance on this dark day.
