Hwy 285 Closed both directions - head on collision Hwy 285 at Kings Valley Dr

Per eyewitness: "They are turning everyone around to head back towards conifer."

Elk Creek Fire medical personnel back at the station and available. Per cosmiccowboy55, they are now calling it an extended closure.

If you need to get to Shaffer's Crossing or further SB on 285, try these 2 routes instead:
From Robert: "Foxton rd....to sw platte river road....make right on last resort creek road....follow over to elk creek road....north back to 285 at gravel pit" (Shaffer's Crossing)

From Karen: "Foxton Rd to River Rd to Hwy 126 to 285 at Pine Junction."

Please be careful driving those roads. They are twisty in places and dark, and not used to handling a lot of traffic.
