Wamblee Fire

As we’ve been reporting on Facebook, there is a 2.5 acre fire off of Wamblee Trail. Evacuations have been ordered, see below. A Type 2A air support has been requested, multiple resources are on the fire. See our Facebook Page for video by Greg Kwalkarf.

Just spoke with Elk Creek Fire Deputy Chief Ware and he was optimistic that they could get this contained - they have a lot of support on this from the air and ground. We will keep you posted.

Elk Creek is currently working a wildfire in the Wamblee area. Crews are currently engaged putting in fire line.

We’re responding to a wildfire near 13800 Wamblee Trail. Fire is 2.5 acres. No structures are immediately threatened but we have issued an evacuation order for 20 homes. Evac site is Conifer High School. North Fork Fire, US Forest Service, West Metro and on scene. pic.twitter.com/M7cQyzzfm7

Heard on the scanner that they were moving into mop up - hoping this means they have a line around it. Stand by for confirmation.

From Platte Canyon Fire Protection District:
Per PCFD FF's on scene of the Wamblee Fire, (which is located in ECFD's district) currently have a scratch line around the fire, estimated fire is 1/2 to 3 acres in size.

There are addtional smaller fire's in the North Fork/ USFS area that also have units on scene.
