#WambleeFire near Conifer is not contained, but @ElkCreekFire does have a line all the way around the two acre blaze. @jeffcosheriffco has lifted the evac orders and fire crews will stay on scene all night. Residents may see smoke & fire overnight. pic.twitter.com/zjkiUygqJo
This topic is for the Wamblee Fire, sorry if we caused any confusion. The Tweet from the Jeffco Sheriff's Office about the media staging had used the wrong hashtag. The Eagle Rock Fire was further south near Buffalo Creek and it was contained by USFS at 7pm (we did not have a topic on it here).
Crews are back on scene and there is about a quarter of an acre of fire that "slopped over" (went outside of the scratch line) that they are taking care of right now.
We received a message this morning asking if there were any outages reported, as the message sender's home was out. We checked the IREA and Xcel Energy outage maps but found nothing. If your power is out, please call it in so they know there is a problem.
From Platte Canyon Fire Protection District:
FYI, The Wamblee Fire located in ECFD's district is putting up some visible smoke. ECFD is managing the fire.
The Wamblee Fire is 100% contained at this time. Crews are going to be mopping up for the next few days.
Elk Creek IA Squad member Scott Adams bucking up logs during mop up.
Firefighters from The East Divide Hand crew hustle to pick up a slop over. The slop over was stopped at a 1/4 acre. It was caused by rolling debris on the steep slope.
