Accident Hwy 285 at Richmond Hill

Per eyewitnesses: there's a bad accident on Hwy 285 at Richmond Hill. Traffic is stopped and backed up both directions, Flight For Life has landed and left again.

Traffic is now backed up to the Conifer Marketplace. mymountaintown.com/weather-traffic

Traffic is being turned around NB before Richmond Hill, presumably to detour off at Kings Valley


Traffic going southbound is now backed up to the Conifer Town Center (possibly beyond, but not as far as Little Britches in Aspen Park yet)

If you are local and need to get to Log Trail or Richmond Hill going southbound, let the police officers know at the detour (Foxton Rd) and they will let you through (per travelers). If you are headed northbound, your best bet is to go down to Pine and take Foxton back up.

Two cars were involved in the crash, one person was ejected. The crash was reported just after 5 p.m.

Highway 285 south of Conifer is shut down in both directions Wednesday evening after a crash killed one person, according to Colorado State Patrol (CPS).

One person was flown to a hospital and two people were transported by ambulance, CPS said

.

Per a friend of MMT, they are letting cars through now but no official confirmation from CDOT yet.

Per CSP they have not yet re-opened the highway. They are working to get one lane open.

One life has been lost, and others severely impacted by the crash we are working south of Conifer on US 285. Evidence strewn across all lanes of the highway. Mapping and clean-up will be extensive. Avoid the Richmond Hill area if possible. No good alternate routes.

"If you are taking the foxton/126 detour please be careful. The river rise is narrow and the traffic is two way. Be safe"
