National Preparedness Level Elevated to Highest Level, PL5

19 Aug 2020 13:25 #1 by ElkCreekFireDepartment

From National Interagency Fire Center:

The National #PreparednessLevel will elevate to 5 (PL5) at 8pm MST Aug 18 due to a significant increase in fire activity in multiple geographic areas, high demand for IMTs and commitment of resources --> bit.ly/316ZBTa #FireYear2020 #NationalFireNews

PL5: This is the highest level of wildland fire activity. Several geographic areas are experiencing large, complex wildland fire incidents, which have the potential to exhaust national wildland firefighting resources. At least 80 percent of the country’s IMTs and wildland firefighting personnel are committed to wildland fire incidents.
