Per cosmiccowboy55: District 8/Lake George Fire Protection District responding to wildland fire on Forest Service Road 227. Hartsel Fire to provide mutual aid.
Crews en route see a large plume of smoke, requesting Teller County put their wildland crew on standby.
Putting Webber Park Subdivision on pre-evac.
Homes off of 44 and River Ranch will receive evacuation notice.
Brush 84 has arrived on scene,fire looks to be about half an acre in size. They are at CR 77 and CR 31.
Checking on availability of resources, ground and air. 2 Mods and an engine, helicopter available.
Can't get tenders in close to the fire, flame lengths 1-2 feet, it's in the trees, heavily wooded, spread potential is high, going downslope at this time.
#230 Command is requesting small brush trucks and hand crews. Asking for Teller County's wildland task force to send brush truck. Directions: County Road 31 to Forest Service Road 230.
Forest service now has command of the fire. They are evacuating campers from FS Road 227, 231, and CR 44. Leaving some resources to hold the line along the road, now moving staging back to 31 and 231 to focus on structure protection.

Thorp Fire
The Thorp Fire is wild land fire of approximately 50 acres at this time. Mandatory evacuation order for campers off of County Road 31 and surrounding Forest Service roads. This is a mandatory evacuation.
