There's a new fire at C470 and Ken Caryl. Per James Richardson, crews are staging at Inter-Canyon Fire Station 4.

There is a 4 to 5 acre wildfire in the foothills west of Ken Caryl Valley. Crews with West Metro and @ICFPD are looking for best access to the fire. At this time, no stuctures are threatened. Updates will follow.

Per cosmiccowboy55: Elk Creek Fire has been requested for mutual aid for this fire, they are to report to ICFPD Station 4 for staging.

Per residents of S Turkey Creek, a pre-evacuation notice has been sent to them.

Crews have a found a good access point at the north side of the fire to bring in apparatus.

The #westranchfire now estimated at 6 acres. Over 30 firefighters and 20 apparatus now working the fire

The #westranchfire is creeping through brush pushed by erratic winds at 10-15 mph

Hand crews are making good progress working up from the trail at the heel of the fire toward the top. Terrain has scrub oak.

Firefighters from @ICFPD will monitor the #westranchfire overnight but no suppression is planned due to darkness, cold and terrain. Active work on the fire will resume Monday morning

Morning briefing for firefighters on the #westranchfire. A very chilly morning as operations start. Crews will work on containment and fuels within the perimeter of the fire. Safety is primary focus.
