Crews have located a structure nearby, fire is approximately 1/4 to 1/2 of a mile from it, assessing risk to structure.

Staging all the vehicles on CR 77 for the moment.

No one in the structure, crews will begin de-limbing trees, mitigating around structure to provide protection.

From Lake George Fire Protection District 6hr ago:
Update on the Allen Creek Fire: Smoke was reported at approximately 4:30pm. Lake George Fire Protection District responded and found the fire off of County Road 77 near mm 24. Fire was approximately 1 mile back on USFS land. USFS, Lake George Fire Protection District, Hartsel Fire, Jefferson-Como Fire and Park County Sheriff were on scene. A dozer was utilized and built lines along with hand crews digging line. The Fire Departments staged at several houses in the area. No evacuations were needed. Roughly 25-30 firefighters were there. The fire is currently 11.4 acres. No structures are threatened at this time. There is 0% containment. The fire is not making any progression at the moment. USFS is remaining on scene overnight. County resources have been released and Lake George Fire Protection District will be back out with USFS in the morning. The cause has not yet been determined.

Park County Gov Update: Wildland Fire 16 miles NW of Lake George

Update: 8:30 am 4/23/2022 per the USFS, the wildland fire 16 miles NW of Lake George, CO impacting 11 acres of forest service land. 0.0% containment reported. Lake George and US Forest firefighters will continue to improve fire lines and extinguish hot spots. A Type 1 helicopter will be assigned to this incident and assist fire fighting efforts if the winds allow flight activity. A Type 2 crew (20 Firefighters) will arrive at 4:00 pm today. Updates will continue to be provided through the county website and social media.
