South Platte Ranger District Plans Prescribed Burning for Areas in Park, Jeffco

Location: Hatch, Harris Park and Kelsey-Gun

Patrol conducted by: Captain 11-1

Number of piles still smoldering: 0 piles at Hatch, and 100 at Kelsey-Gun, 3 at Harris Park

Potential Smoke impacts to smoke receptors (i.e. highways and/or communities): Community of Deckers to the south also riverside residences along S Platte River Road for Hatch and the CR-67 Corridor for Kelsey Gun. Impact to the Harris Park Community and CR 43.

Patrol Status: District 11 resources will patrol piles until out.

Patrol needs for next operational period: District 11 resources will patrol piles on 2/22/2023

Additional Comments: Smoke may be visible in the area and Firefighters monitor the area after burning is complete. Public and firefighter safety is always the number-one priority in burning operations. Seeing flames and smoke, even after dark, is part of normal operations.
