From Inter-Canyon Fire 26min ago:
A (most likely final) update regarding the Twin Forks Fire that took place yesterday, July 28, 2024:

The fire is 100% contained and in monitor status. Its final acreage was 6.1. The cause is under investigation.

We are grateful for the teamwork and rapid response to this incident. The fire was initially very active, and it had significant potential. It did spot across Hwy. 285 into the median and burn a small island of grass. Had it spotted further and established itself in the Turkey Creek drainage, we could have been dealing with a much more problematic situation.

Mutual aid and partners on this fire included Elk Creek Fire Department, Indian Hills Fire Rescue, North Fork Fire Rescue, Evergreen Fire/Rescue, Monument Helitack, Douglas County Helitack, @DDFPC (Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control ) and their MMA (Multi-Mission Aircraft), and Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

Included here is some footage from the fire yesterday. (See their Facebook Page)

Thank you again to everyone for the good work. We continue to work together to keep our communities safe to the utmost of our abilities!
