Florissant celebrates Colorado’s Ute Indian, mountain men, pioneer heritage

Florissant Heritage Day is a fun way to discover the early beginnings of Colorado’s history in the Florissant area of Teller County, a few miles east of the Park County line.

The festival will be held Saturday, July 30 and has become the biggest day of the year for the small community of Florissant which was established as a town during the early 1880s.

The Pikes Peak Historical Society, Florissant Grange No. 420, Florissant Library and Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument will have a variety of activities for visitors to participate during the 2016 Heritage Day celebration.
