There is a recent movie released entitled "Inside Job" the film that cost over 20,000,000,000,000 to make that offers a good in depth explanation of what caused the financial melt down. What became immediately apparent is that both major parties, Greenspan, bankers, and other players share the bulk of the blame. The stupidity of a person to take out more in loans than they should was not really the problem. In addition, I think it was the personal greed of the people involved more than the greed of the corporations/banks that was the driving force. There was a way to make money, the regulators allowed it, the government allowed it, the corporations exploited it and none of these entities were concerned about the consequences. All of this was done for the individuals involved to make money. They still have that money, regardless of the status of the financial institutions they work for. These people who individually profited need to be put on trial if there is to be any accountability. IMO.
