Capture Osama Quietly?

I wonder if other presidents would have secretly captured and interrogated Osama instead of killing him dead and grabbing documents.

It might have been the smarter play since Al Quiada is clearly still functional instead of the grandstanding drama of a public capture and a photo-op.

Interesting observation. That secret would not last long. It seems that Obama is the old west sheriff who killed the wanted man instead of bringing him in.

We captured Obama quietly? Can we send him and VL back to Chicago? :)

Seriously, I am surprised there isn't a conspiracy theory about this yet. Maybe Bin Laden was captured and is being compassionately interrogated right now! Who knows?

Wow, since we're Monday-morning-quarterbacking, and wondering "what if?"...I wonder what if Bush had acted on the intel that Bin Laden was planning to attack us?....and several suspicious people were training to fly large passenger jets at various flying schools?

I wonder if maybe the WTC attacks could have been prevented?

I wonder if the information that the weapons inspectors were reporting, and Valerie Plame's husband, Joe Wilson told them, if perhaps we didn't need to go to war in Iraq?...And if a good covert agent, Plame, didn't need to be outed?

Gee, the list goes on and on doesn't it?

Interesting note in the news today. The US is wanting to debrief the wives of OBL. WTH?

Looks like the US is realizing they made a mistake here by not capturing Osama. Being forced to get intelligence from the wives.

I don't think it is intelligence they are looking for from the wives,I understand they want to talk with anyone who was present at the compound. Don't you think they would want to talk to everyone living there whether Osama was dead or alive? Personally, I'm glad they killed him, if this country had to go through the circus of a trial, which would probably take years, we would have to relive the pain of 9/11 over and over again. I prefer the finality of him being dead.

I am thinking I do not understand your point. We killed him, we have the debriefings, we have the photos, we have video, we have DNA, we had the body why would we need to talk to a third party about whether he was dead or alive?

The wives can provide information about places they hid; how they traveled; who was in and out of the house; who may have helped them and provided support in Pakistan, (since the Pakistani government isn't cooperating); information that may help them track down other Al-Queda hit-list targets... Duh...

Maybe we should waterboard the wives, since you love torture so much.

So, all of a sudden you clowns are experts on what the CIA thinks will be useful information? rofllol

Actually I think the widows would be pretty worthless sources of info, one admitted to living for years on just one floor of the building.
