Hassidics take Orthodoxy to its extreme. Not all Orthodox Jews do that.

The point I'm trying to make is that Judaism doesn't frighten us so we aren't threatened by their radical fringe. Just like the group that is trying to. Build the cultural center is a more liberal/mainstream brand of Islam, this group is a more primitive (good description) /radical brand of Judaism. The polygamists in the four corners represent the same view of christianity-yet we can't or won't make the same seperations for Islam. Excuse me for attemting a discussion. I didn't realize it was against TOS. ( sarcasm)

Were you wanting rants? If they started terrorist activities then I am sure that this dialogue would be quite different.
You see, our dislike of radical Muslims is not racially motivated. It is motivated by their terrorist activity.

Chickaree -

Yes - we seem to have a selective paranoia instinct.

I suspect the paranoid factions would say "but the Jewish and Christian factions don't make it their mission to kill non-Muslims."

(I'm not a part of the paranoid segment of society, just trying to guess what they'd say).

Fear is a very powerful motivator. Make someone afraid of something --- you can become a milliionaire.

That's why we have CCW instructors, insurance, firearms, safety experts, and self-defense academies - just to name a few industries that thrive on fear.

Islamaphobia has been a very profitable thing.

What?! Liberals thrive on fear. It is what motivates them. Handguns, anyone? They are also very afraid of what other people might think, or their point of view. Political correctiness, anyone?

From here on. Just to add to the conversation.

My two cents. You cannot change history and taking out a photo is false reporting.

Just because you are paranoid does not mean someone is not out to cut your head off. Just saying.

That's why they hate us... We let women become equals!

So, all we gotta do to make peace is roll our society backwards through all our growth since we gave women the vote.

Easy enough.

It'd last for a minute and a half while the women went and got their guns.

You really need to rephrase "We let women become equals". Maybe "We recognized the equality of women"?

While Americans don't feel threatened by Jews these days, they used to. And there was a lot of anti-Jewish bigotry 50 years ago.

I still can't decide how I feel about this. Personally I hate doctored photos, but it is their religion.
