Agreed. Being capable of generalist skills will serve well during periods of crisis. It is wise to be prepared. This is something our household needs to accomplish. I've got the renaissance skills but we need to prepare some more basics.
You mountain folks really need to stock up...I can imagine how fast the few stores up there would run out and by the time you came to Denver, you would find complete chaos and and probably would not want to get out of the car.
