It does seem to be a war between the parties. You can say that you could care less (that should be couldn't care less, but I won't bring that up) but the rest of the country cares very much about party and that is our current reality and the over riding reason so little gets done.
You are right. Political reality and idealism are two different things.
But you already have brought up my error. By all means do bring up gramatical mistakes. I do tend to lern best from having screw ups pointed out and corrected. I don't belive anyone is ever too old to learn and I hate failure in myself. Personal failing just happens too much for my comfort.
If only the rest of the country would focus on problem solving as opposed to political affiliation. As you know Archer, the party bickering and posturing does more harm than good. If I were to take this board as a go by, most of the time is spent slinging mud instead of working through ideological differences. Let's say a lesson I learned in science is if there are opposing interpretations, the truth usually is somewhere in the middle. Could it be the same holds true for Politics? Is the best path toward economic recovery and stability a compromise of ideology?
When did the word "compromise" becaome a bad thing? In our daily lives compromise is viewed as a positive, no marriage ever thrived if the spouses refused to compromise. In business it's all about compromise, most business savvy people realize that taking the best ideas from many people and molding them into an action plan brings about the best results. But in politics, compromise is frowned upon, it is considered a failure if your party has to compromise to get things done.
pssst.....use of "could care less" is one of those pet peeves of mine, so I just couldn't resist. I can deal with crappy spelling (mine often sucks) and changes in tense, but that one just gets to me. Sorry about that.
