No national medical organization in the world recommends routine circumcision of male infants.

Many people cannot accept this because either they were circumcised or had their children circumcised. Denial does allow a person to function all be it a reduced capacity. So the unethical treatment of our disposable gender continues.

Well, I had my boys circumcised and I regretted it. I think it should be their decision. And as a parent, if the boys are not circumcised, we should make sure they know what to clean, how to clean it, and do it.

Comparing female circumcision - done to repress the female sex drive, done without anethesia most of the time, often done with a razor blade, causing even more damage, and done by non medical professionals too often - to the removal of the foreskin, done by doctors, with anethesia, without any damage the vast majority of the time is ridiculous. They are by no means the same.

This org compares the two.

Parents need to educate themselves and not do unnecessary/unethical surgery on their babies.

They do offer reconstructive surgery, but I think I would pass on that. :VeryScared:

The pros and cons of circumcision

Circumcision: Medical Pros and Cons At A Glance

Inability to retract the foreskin fully at birth is not a medical reason for a circumcision.
Circumcision prevents phimosis (the inability to retract the foreskin at an age when it should normally be retractable), paraphimosis (the painful inability to return the foreskin to its original location), and balanoposthitis (inflammation of the glans and foreskin).
Circumcision increases the chance of meatitis (inflammation of the opening of the penis).
Circumcision may result in a decreased incidence of urinary tract infections.
Circumcision may result in a lower incidence of sexually-transmitted diseases and may reduce HIV transmission.
Circumcision may lower the risk for cancer of the cervix in sexual partners.
Circumcision may decrease the risk for cancer of the penis.
There is no absolute medical indication for routine circumcision of the newborn.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

Well, since most women don't have a penis it really matters not to me what their thoughts are. However, it sure does matter what my own child does. Just saying
