Mine too, even though for all intents and purposes the US is NATO - as that organizations inability to carry out operations without the US in Libya has clearly demonstrated. But I agree with you neptune, the Obama administration will say there is no need to obtain congressional approval for continued operations because the War Powers Act doesn't include NATO operations. You couldn't get even money on that bet in Vegas. It's about as certain as who will win a one horse race.

I remember big arguments over whether or not Obama had the Constitutional Authority to put us into Libya and the claims that the War Powers Act came him that power. Now the 60 days are up and again he is flouting the Constitution. Come on LJ and Archer, defend it.

If I remember correctly, all of us liberals unanimously stated that we disagreed with the decision to even go there in the first place, so we have nothing to argue against you about. Cool, huh?!

Sorry to have bothered you with such petty B.S. as the Constitution.

What i said was why would you expect people on this forum to foam at the mouth about it more than the even the Republicans in Congress are?

As others have pointed out, this is a NATO operation so the legality of it continuing is an open question at this point. When and if that changes, get back to me.

In the meantime, try to chill out a little bit. There will be a new outrage tomorrow anyway.

I guess the Demoncrats have their talking points out that the War Powers Act doesn't count because the war is being waged by NATO. It doesn't make any difference that 419 of the first 421 missiles fired were by us. Heck, we are NATO in essence, but the End Justifies The Means, right Archer?

Nmysys - we agree with you that we shouldn't be there, what more do you want? Go have a good weekend with your lovely wife!

The Obama administration has commented...

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2011/05/white-house-on-war-powers-deadline-limited-us-role-in-libya-means-no-need-to-get-congressional-autho.html

In an effort to satisfy those arguing he needs to seek congressional authorization to continue US military activity in accordance with the War Powers Resolution, President Obama wrote a letter to congressional leaders this afternoon suggesting that the role is now so “limited” he does not need to seek congressional approval.

“Since April 4,” the president wrote, “U.S. participation has consisted of: (1) non-kinetic support to the NATO-led operation, including intelligence, logistical support, and search and rescue assistance; (2) aircraft that have assisted in the suppression and destruction of air defenses in support of the no-fly zone; and (3) since April 23, precision strikes by unmanned aerial vehicles against a limited set of clearly defined targets in support of the NATO-led coalition's efforts.”

I don't know if this could be compared to Pakistan or not. So far as I recall, neither Bush nor Obama ever got approval to bomb over there, nor to get bin Laden.

Isn't it a wonderful thing to have a president who is a globalist? Not.

Amazingly there has been a NEW OUTRAGE every day since this Administration took office. Like clockwork, every day there is something new that falls into place on the plan to take America down, and thanks to you Liberals it is succeeding.
