Yet conservatives seem to lap it up like pablum.

Yep, just meaningless platitudes like "Hope & Change".

In modern day campaigning, it just doesn't pay to provide specifics, something people can actually pin on you, like poor Paul Ryan getting crucified for trying to fix Medicare. It is easier to make broad statements, like we need to fix schools, cut waste, etc. Phrases that are hard to disagree with.

Uh, why would any Republcan like Cain? Don't you know he's BLACK!!!? :VeryScared:

I like Cain so I must be some confused racist I guess. It would be great if he became the nominee so we could stick the liberal race card right up their righteous all knowing @sses.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

And he's NOT a politican!!!! Which could be his down fall, but from archer's comments they're scared of him, so he must be a GOOD DUDE!

HuffPo: Democrats Starting to Take Herman Cain Seriously
Guy Benson | All Posts By Blogger
Some Republican campaign operatives may still be inclined to treat Herman Cain as little more than a novelty candidate, but Democrats are reportedly mobilizing to avoid underestimating the Atlanta-based businessman:

Yet another poll suggests Republican voters are giving serious consideration to presidential hopeful Herman Cain, the still relatively mysterious pizza magnate who has electrified conservative activists. The Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling is set to release numbers Wednesday showing Cain in a two-way tie for second place in the GOP primary among Iowa voters.

"Herman Cain is for real and is making a bunch of established pols look weak to ridiculous," a top party strategist emailed the Huffington Post on Tuesday night. "[Tim Pawlenty] has banked his whole shot on Iowa and is getting beat by...Herman Cain? Romney's ahead - so what's Romney's excuse for all but bypassing Iowa altogether?"

HMMMM, didn't I say "Seems like the left is afraid of Mr. Cain"?

Huntsman is deeply LDS (Romney is less entrenched). While the GOP might accept that, I don't think the general electorate will.

Agreed, BB, but I don't think it's the LDS that will turn off voters, I think it will be that they're to moderate.

You could be right about the general public rejecting Mormon candidates, maybe why Romney isn't polling higher.

Archer please watch his videos or read up on him before you make a statement that is a typical liberal talking point. 'They have no idea what to do'? That is such BS. He has a whole list of things he is going to do, and things he is going to change. But you guys just see what the liberal medis tells you.

And you are calling an extremely successful business man a blowhard but not Obama? Obama is the biggest blowhard with the biggest unsupported ego and no accomplishments that we have ever elected. So calling Cain a blowhard is like the pot calling the kettle black! (oops is that racist?)

In the LDS gang, Romney is the most electable (I think his baggage is some of his state's liberal policies).

I'll readily admit to possibly projecting my own sentiments into my analysis of the race.

I generally feel that a mid-west populist model is favorable for 2012.

(Problem is, a populist is unlikely to accomplish any of the goals that conservatives tend to support).
