There were no lives saved here. Does the left really believe that we should spend unlimited amounts on ineffective treatments in order to feed false hope? When does somebody step in as a grownup and say "no"?

No, actually, this "Left" believes that the State of Florida and the Congress had no business intervening in the Terry Schiavo case and FORCING the family (the husband) and the insurance company to continue life-support and "spending unlimited amounts" when it was obvious that Ms. Schiavo was, for all intents and purposed, already gone. Looks to me like the husband had already stepped in as a grownup and was asking for the right to pull the plug and let his wife have a dignified death, and it was the pro-lifers in the State and the Congress apparently who were the ones who believed that the "unlimited amounts on ineffective treatments" should continue.

I agree also. The Schiavo case was a tragic piece of grandstanding. I don't see what these two cases have in common other than being end of life issues being played for political advantage.

EASY that diference is that one is innocent, the other is NOT!

BTW, archer, lj, Thank you for using RIGHT TO LIFERS & PRO-LIFERS, that mean that leftist MUST be
PRO-DEATHERS.

EDITED: but only for the innocent!

I know this is off topic, but I've never understood those who would make abortion a criminal act but call for the death penalty with the next breath. In my heart I believe that only God should have the power to end a life and for man to do so is a sin. Taking a life should never be done lightly as it imposes this sin on our souls and we must work especially hard to expiate it. I also acknowledge that this is a belief, and not one that is or should be supported by law justbecause I hold it.

Sorry, don't believe "it imposes this sin on our souls and we must work especially hard to expiate it."

We do NOT have to WORK at all God will judge, and will let us enter BY HIS GRACE ONLY, not by works so as man will not boost.

archer, I don't want to outlaw abrotion (I understand it is sometimes necessary), I want to outlaw it as a form of birth control. Aren't words funny? Pro-death, pro-chioce, liberal, leftist, progressive,
Right-Thinker, is well a Right-Thinker.
