Senior Aides On Gingrich Presidential Campaign Resign En Masse

WASHINGTON -- Republican presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich's campaign manager, senior strategists and key aides in early delegate-selection states all resigned on Thursday, a mass exodus that leaves his hopes of winning the Republican nomination in tatters.

Rick Tyler, Gingrich's spokesman, said he, campaign manager Rob Johnson and senior strategists had resigned, along with aides in the early primary and caucus states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.

Other officials said Gingrich was informed that his entire high command was quitting in a meeting earlier in the day. They cited differences over the direction of the campaign but were not more specific.

The officials declined to be identified by name, saying they were not authorized to discuss private conversations.

Well, dang... Don't you hate it when that happens? Either he was too bat-crap-crazy for 'em....or (more likely in this climate), he wasn't bat-crap-crazy enough.

A couple theories I heard.
1)They didn't like his Tiffany loving wife who was meddling in the campaign.
2) Many of the people leaving worked for Gov. Perry, so he may announce next week.
3) They believed Newt's heart wasn't in a full campaign, in fact, I think he is on a cruise through the Greek Isles instead of going door to door in Iowa.

My theory? Newt finally realized he doesn't have a chance.

He was done as soon as he openned his mouth a month ago.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Those wacky Republicans just keep on entertaining us with their political views. My favorite is Rick Santorum. Try googling santorum and check the top ranked result.

It boils down to he wasn't bat-crap-crazy enough. He didn't swallow the Ryan-Plan Kool-Aid; he suggested that climate-change was real... (GOP and science are mutually-exclusive.)

You've got to be at least 2 points Right of bat-crap-crazy to be considered a serious GOP candidate these days. (Hence, the interest in Rick Perry...)

Certainly not me... He never was a serious candidate... He could start an ex-wives' club and out-number the rest of the candidates... (Well, maybe not Rudy Giuliani...)
