Herman Cain promises he wouldn't sign any bill over three pages long

Herman Cain has discovered a way to stand out from all the other Republicans running for president.

The former president and chief executive of Godfather’s Pizza wants to make an offer to Congress that it can't refuse. Unfortunately, it may be an offer so idealistic that it could have Cain swimming with the proverbial fishes -- politically speaking.

Cain wants to stop lawmakers from passing bills that are over three pages long. Talk about small government.

Nice goal!

How small can we make the font?
Can Congress be anything but verbose?

Not a bad idea. We'd never have to hear about oversized bills with lots of pork in them again. They'd just have to create separate bills and link them together as dependencies. It's like a shortcut to the line item veto.

if the lawmakers don't fill in the blanks, then the bureaucracy will. Small "bills" are too general and that is where they are implemented differently than intended.

my take on Herman Cain is that he is trying to be "simple man" and is "playing the good ole boy". He did not rise to CEO by having either of those two traits. Politicians, no wonder so many actors get in.... it IS acting

I do think that each bill should stand on it's own, but I guess the only way to get the votes is give everybody something for their vote. I don't know how you go about changing that.

Small bills leave the interpretation to the judicial branch. Then he can whine about .....you know. Just what I am sure he wants. Dumb and dumber.
The bible could have been 3 pages too.

actually, I think it is the FOURTH branch of government that take over the "small bills"
that is BUREAUCRACY

eventually, it may end up with one of the THREE MAIN BRANCHES, as you say, JUDICIAL
